Fiction Master Class Need-Based Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available each year to promising writers from underserved communities who would not otherwise have the opportunity to study creative writing.

Aspiring writers over the age of 18 who do not have a BA or equivalent degree, and who are not currently enrolled in a four-year degree program, receive priority consideration.

Scholarship applications require a cover letter, a writing sample, and a completed application form. There is no application fee, and we do not require letters of recommendation.

We seek promising writers who have not had the opportunity to receive a formal education in creative writing, who will benefit from mentorship and education in narrative craft.

We are currently accepting scholarship applications for long fiction and short fiction. You may apply to only one scholarship at a time.
