Every writer is a reader first. As you work through the course, I encourage you to read novels in the genre in which you want to write, paying close attention to how these novels are constructed. Read as a writer, thinking about the choices the author made in terms of characterization, plot, and point of view. You might also want to read one of the books on craft from the Recommended Reading list.
